What is the version of tomcat server that's compatible with EJB 3.0 annotations? is there any plug-in to make tomcat 6.0 compatible with ejb 3.0?

If we do testings[EJB 3.0] on Websphere Application server community edition, are we able to deploy the same EAR file on a commercial version of Websphere Application server. Will it run the same EAR on the enterprise(Commercial) Websphere Application server edition?

Do you need all of the EJB 3.0 spec or just the JPA part? I've used Hibernate for the JPA part. If you need the full EJB (and I'd have to ask - why?) then you need something like EasyBeans.

Our firm(Not an IT firm, but a corporate IT System development division in a Bank) always follow component architecture with EJB(But they have used EJB 2.1).So I wanted build new applications with EJB 3.0.For the time being they have requested for 'Websphere Application Server 7'.So I just wanted to test some new applications on the Community Edition.I used 'Hibernate' for persistence inside the EJB Module.

I'm new to this firm and As a practice, they have worked with EJBs, but they have no any idea of the advantages of using EJBs.As far as I felt they do this, having some ideas of security reasons(But not to create plugable and portable server side components). But I think It's better to use EJBs, as we have to deal with several data sources.

If you think that there's a better alternative to maintain this component architecture please tell me.I appreciate if you can help me to get clarified about these technologies and decide what would be the most suitable architecture for our applications.

Thanks!!!
