I'm doing big upgrade this weekend to the stuff under the forum:
- The PostgreSQL database that is under the forum will be upgraded from 8.1.0 to 8.1.3. There are some security issues fixed in 8.1.3 and you can never be too paranoid
 - Apache httpd which runs in front of Tomcat will be upgraded from 2.0.54 to 2.0.55. This isn't really needed but I figure I'll just do them all at once.
- mod_jk will be upgraded from 1.2.13 to 1.2.15. I figure anytime I upgrade Apache httpd I may as well upgrade this too.
- The Subversion Apache plugin will be upgraded to 1.3.1. Again, upgrade http, upgrade the plugin modules.
- Tomcat will be upgraded to 5.5.16. Again, not likely needed, but it is easier to do at the same time as...
- The hotjoe forums will start running on Java 1.5.0_06. Yes, I have finally decided that 1.5 is stable enough for production use. They are currently using 1.4.2_08
I've got all of the software compiled and ready to go so it shouldn't take long to do the upgrade.
I'm hoping that these upgrades will take care of the "newest registed user" bug but I'm not sure. Otherwise they are to keep hotjoe.com using the latest but stable software, unlike other Java forums
I'll post another message when this is done.
