Found some info about the D programming language recently... Here are some sites:
  • D Programming Language

  • Comparison to Other Langauges (C, C++, C#, Java)

  • Wikipedia: D Programming Langauge (has sample code)

  • Something I found pretty weird from wikipedia:

    Specifically the array part in the beginning of the main() method.
    PS. The -= are supposed to be ~=... they don't seem to come out in the code tags though..

    What do you guys think?

    I've been using C# for a while and to be perfectly honest I'm frustrated with the large number of variations on C++. I mean C# has zero that is new. If Microsoft would have just played along they wouldn't have had to steal almost all of the Java language and re-implement parts of C++.

    So I'm tired of doctural students making up yet another language when we as software engineers have much bigger fish to fry than pretty syntax. It isn't the syntax that is holding back software, it is the design methodologies and the utter inability of management to understand that 90% of the code takes 10% of the time and the remaining 10% of the code takes 90% of the time.

    Just my <small amount of your localized currency> worth
